Masa Ishikawa Trio, featuring Chris Bates and JT Bates

The Masa Ishikawa Trio returns to Jazz Central Studio with various original compositions/arrangements. The trio features Chris Bates on bass and JT Bates on drums.

Originally from Fukushima, Japan, Masa Ishikawa came to the United States in 2003 to begin his formal musical training in Seattle, Washington. Masa has performed at various jazz festivals and concerts in Italy, China, Taiwan, Japan, and the United States. As a composer, his works are often drawn from his cultural and life experiences in various countries. In November, Masa will release his 4th original album, titled 『Migration』, in which he dedicates his newly written compositions to various critters.
